Mr. Streett is the construction manager for Deep Run’s renovation. On February 19, 2016, Mr. Street told us a variety of things about the construction project. “All the construction is based on drawings,” he said. The drawings are very important, each drawing shows a different thing the construction team is working on. All the drawings have so much detail. On the drawings there are lines outlined in blue and pink. Blue means that the walls are smoke walls. Pink means that the walls are fire proof walls. They also use the drawings for checking to see if everything is built safely. Then Howard County Inspectors inspect and sign off the project, if everything is correct. From the pipes to the type of wall, every detail is important.
There are many changes that are going to occur in the summer. They are going to change the gym and cafeteria, but mostly the media center. They are going to be adding walls between the media center and the hallway. There will be doors for entering and exiting and there will be windows as well. The school might get a company to pack and unpack the books, since it is difficult to put them away in the correct order. The cafeteria stage will be bigger then it was before the renovation. In the gym, they will be adding a brand new floor, and new paint. In conclusion, the construction will be causing many changes.
