Hey there! I have just got back from an interview with Mr Streett. Wait, you don’t know who Mr Streett is? Mr Streett is the construction manager and is in charge of the renovation at Deep Run Elementary. We asked him plenty of questions about the renovation. He gave us some very useful answers and information. Here is my opinion.
I like the renovation a lot. The most favorite thing I like about the renovation is the fact that the 5th graders have the second floor all to ourselves. The reason the fifth graders got their second floor is because the only way the workers could build a pod for fifth graders was by building up, not adding to the length of the school because of the hill. Another thing I like about the renovation is the stairs leading to the blacktop. At first, we had to walk down a pretty long ramp to go to recess. Now that the workers have finished the stairs, we can get to recess faster!
Now I would like to talk about my fun experience with interviewing Mr Streett. First, Mr Streett talked about how EVERYTHING (yes, everything) that is being built and torn down is on a drawing called a blueprint. I knew stuff was on a blueprint but EVERYTHING is on the drawing. Wow, that must be lots of details to put on the drawings. So we know everything is on drawings. Then Mr Streett told us the renovation is split up into 6 phases. Right now Mr Streett and his crew are finishing the 4th phase.
Here are some cool facts that I learned about the renovation this year:
These are some of the cool things I learned about the renovation this year. I would just like to give a shout out to Mr Streett for coming in and giving us information. I felt like a real reporter getting the “scoop” and putting it into an article. I thought this was a great experience to interview someone. I really hope I can do this again because it was a fun experience.

Here are some cool facts that I learned about the renovation this year:
- 40 teachers will be moved to different spots in the beginning of May
- The gym, cafeteria, and media center will be redone this summer when the 5th graders will be gone
- Even the KITCHEN will be redone
- Also the stage will be redone
- There will be a new music room
